understanding NAtural Capital & Ecosystem Services
Natural capital refers to the stock of natural resources, which are further classified into ecosystem services. These services span a broad spectrum, including carbon sequestration, biodiversity, the recreational value of landscapes and so on.
Through natural capital accounting the economic value of these ecosystem services is recognized, allowing users to quanitfy and recognize the ecological impact of their projects in monetary terms. This approach fosters a deeper understanding of the inherent and vital value ecosystems services provide us with.
We quantify ecological impact by combining robust scientific frameworks into one piece of software
our foundation is built on guaranteeing accuracy
At the heart of EVE we incorporated an internationally agreed-upon and scientifically backed methodology for natural capital accounting.
We've meticulously curated our initial dataset from scientifically validated databases that include a diverse range of case studies. This is an ongoing effort as we aim to continually expand and enhance our database.
Additionally, we embrace a collaborative approach by crowd sourcing values from our users. Following a due diligence process, we incorporate these values into our greater dataset. This not only fosters greater flexibility but also ensures a more dynamic and inclusive dataset.
